I had the pleasure of joining several midwest teacher bloggers at our first annual Midwest Blogger Meet Up!  This event was put together by Lindsey at Thriving in 3rd and Jameson from Lessons with Coffee. They did an amazing job at being the coordinators of this event and taking on the responsibility of planning this whole thing! Even better Lakeshore Learning hosted all of us teacher bloggers in their Palatine IL, store. They even graciously had grade level ready gift bags available for each of us.  Don’t fret, Lakeshore sent you something great just keep reading you’ll find it at the end of this post!

Bloggers from the Chicagoland area, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa all came together for some great fun.  We began the meet up by making the cutest pencil glyphs ever. This gave us an opportunity to talk with our table mates and get creative.  We all also got gift bags with the cutest personalized name tags.  I think it was absolutely perfect to have our meet up at Lakeshore.  There wonderful staff made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.  We had a lovely set up right in the middle of their store.  We also got to check out all that this store has to offer teachers.   You could find anything from activities, games, workbooks, teacher books, classroom decorations and a multitude of Common Core aligned materials to use in your classroom.  The people from Lakeshore graciously gave each of us a tote bag loaded with a plan book, steel cup, and grade level specific compete activity set geared towards math or language arts.  Click here  to shop at Lakeshore they have a great online store with great deals an resources.

We also did a favorite things swap. Boy do teachers have great taste! This was an awesome opportunity to get to know everyone and score more goodies!  We also had many raffles going on throughout the meet up! Lindsey and Jameson also put together a product packet for all of us. It was full of some of our midwest bloggers activities sold on Teachers Pay Teachers.  I included my Selfie Sack activity that is great for getting to know your students.  We also got a load of free graphics from one of my favorite designers Krista at Creative Clips .  We even scored big with another gift bag loaded with items from the wonderful people at Creative Teaching Press.

PicMonkey Collage I’d say the first Midwest Teacher Blogger Meet Up was a complete success!  It was so nice to have an opportunity to meet up with people that I feel like I already knew thanks to our blogs and social media.  I can’t wait until next years meet up!

Thanks so much for reading and I promised you something so here it is!  The people at Lakeshore wanted me to share this coupon below with my readers and to invite you all to check out their free resources for you to use in your classroom  Lesson PlansCrafts & Activities and Printables.   Click on the coupon below to print yours, it’s good for the rest of the year!
